Little Beginnings Playgroup
Group Overview
We are a playgroup that welcomes children ages 0 to 5 years, and their parents or caregiver. It offers children the opportunity to learn through play, and to interact with other children and adults. Parents and caregivers can also share ideas and information in a supportive community environment.
We meet every Thursday, at the First Presbyterian Church, 340 N. Irwin Street, Hanford. Our group time is from 10:00am through 11:45am. Please consider yourself invited to join us any Thursday. It is open to anybody who has the time and want to enjoy a playful morning for the children and socialization for the parents.
We are linked to the First Presbyterian Church and thank them very much for their support to the playgroup. However, we welcome all children and parents/caregivers whether they are Baptist, Catholics, etc. or non-religious. Little Beginnings Playgroup began in 1998 and is a no-cost community based group.
Little Beginnings Playgroup goals are:
- To have a safe, happy time together where children can learn together through play experiences.
- To share together in the running of a community group that supports families with young children.
- To provide a meeting place for parents/caregivers and children to form new friends.
Little Beginnings Playgroup rules are:
- Parents and children are restricted from attending if they are ill.
- The parent/caregiver assumes responsibility for each child they bring.
- Playrooms must be picked up and toys put away in the appropriate rooms, after EVERY group session.
The playgroup meets in the toddler room nursery on the main floor of the Presbyterian Church. Use the front entrance off the main parking lot. Please bring your child's supplies of diaper and wipes. Snack are brought on a volunteer bases by the parents (by last name split on schedule). Plenty of toys are available at the church, so no need to bring your own.
